Lake Cumberland Offers Plenty of Water for Fishing and Boating.
The Setting
This 3,100-acre park sits along the state’s third largest lake that’s
known for great boating and fishing. The resort includes a lodge,
cottages, restaurant, marina and indoor pool. The park has an outdoor
public pool open in the summer, hiking trails, a disc golf course,
horseback riding in the summer, playgrounds and mini-golf. Daily summer
recreational and nature programming is also offered.
The Facility
The park’s 146-site campground offers water and electric hookups, three central service buildings with showers and rest rooms, laundry facilities, two dump stations, and a grocery nearby. Each site has a table and fire ring.
Park Features
An outdoor, public pool is open daily through early August, then Saturdays and Sundays only through Labor Day weekend. Lifeguards are on duty and a fee is charged. Horseback riding is open Memorial Day through Labor Day. New hiking opportunities available with the lowering of the lake level, but there is plenty of water for fishing and boating, along with more than 50 new or extended ramps around the lake.
Camping Tips
There is a playground at the campground. Firewood is available at the camp store. (Out-of-state campers are asked not to bring their own firewood to prevent the import of insects that are harmful to trees.) Reservations for camping sites can be made by visiting www.parks.ky.gov

Ingredients:
1 Egg Plant (small) peeled and small cubed (sauteed & seasoned to taste)
1 box long grained wide rice
Flour Tortillas
Directions:
1.) Cook ingredients
2.) Heat tortilla slowly over boiling water (do not get them wet).
3.) Spoon in eggplant and rice and roll.
4.) Serve with remaining rice and beans.

Kentucky Dam Village Offers Water Fun, Wildlife Viewing and Plenty of Recreational Opportunities.
The Setting
Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park covers 1,300 acres and sits
along Kentucky Lake. The park has a lodge, cottages and restaurant,
along with a marina, golf course and plenty of fishing and other
recreational activities. The park also has hiking trails, horseback
riding in the summer and summer recreational and nature programs. The
park is near the Land Between the Lakes National Recreational Area.
The Facility
The park’s campground offers 219 paved campsites with water and electric hookups, a grocery store, three dump stations, and four central service buildings with showers and rest rooms. Air Camp for aviators offers the opportunity to camp by your aircraft. The facility has one central service building. Gasoline not available. Reservations are accepted. Closed for season from mid-November to mid-March.
Park Features
To enjoy wildlife, the park has several areas to observe waterfowl,
songbirds, turkey, and deer. A wetlands observation site has an active
Eagle nest to enjoy.
Camping Tips
Each site has a table and fire ring. Out-of-state firewood is prohibited (to keep insects away that harm trees.) Firewood available at the camp store.

Enjoy this delicious dinner on your next camping trip!
Servings: 4
Prep Time: 25-20 minutes
Ingredients:
3-5lb steak
4oz Italian dressing
2oz Soy sauce
Quarter onion
3 cloves garlic
Fresh ground pepper to taste.
Directions:
1.) Mix dressing, onion, garlic and pepper -preferably in blender
2.) Marinade steak and keep cool for 2-6 hrs
3.) Cook on hot BBQ and enjoy

Deep in a valley framed by oak-covered hills, with sailboats and sailboards skimming over its waters, Del Valle is like an alpine resort in the middle of the suburbs.
The Setting
The centerpiece of the park is a five-mile long lake, with all kinds of
water-oriented recreation, surrounded by 4,316 acres of beautiful land
for hiking, horseback riding, and nature study. Del Valle is also the
eastern gateway to the Ohlone Wilderness Trail, 28 miles of scenic
backcountry trail. The Rocky Ridge Visitor Center on the lake's west
side contains exhibits and information about the natural history of Del
Valle and surrounding wilderness. Spring through fall, Sunol
interpretive staff present nature activities; campfire programs; and
natural and cultural history boat tours of the lake.
The Facility
The Del Valle Family Campground has 150 sites, 21 of them with water and sewage hookups (no electrical). The sites are served by centrally located toilet and shower facilities. There are also several youth group campgrounds, available by reservation.
