It will smell and taste delicious. Most often we end up sharing it with our camping neighbors!
Servings: 4
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
2 sticks butter or margarine
1 packaged yellow cake mix
2 cans of peaches in syrup
Shortening - to grease dutch oven
Directions:
1.) Heavily grease 4 or 5 qt dutch oven with shortening.
2.) Next, pour in 2 cans of peaches.
3.) Pour packaged yellow cake mix on top of peaches.
4.) Slice or pinch up 2 sticks of butter or margarine on top of cake mix.
5.) Place lid on dutch oven.
6.) Put approximately 6 nice sized coals underneath dutch oven and 7 on top of lid.
7.) Let it bake for 30 - 45 minutes. (Check it after 30 and if it
doesn't look nice and done, let it cook for up to 15 more minutes.)

It has the perfume of roses. For years, I could only find them at the Greenmarket. Then they started growing and shipping them from California, but those supermarket imposters tend to be mealy (and don't smell like roses).

I have made something similar with blueberries - but it was called a blueberry buckle. But, rally the same type of thing. This easy to make and taste great! Plus you get some fruit and generally less sugar than some desserts. Amela, porcelain lamps
