Fort Boonesborough offers a central location to explore the history of the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky.
The Setting
Located on the banks of the Kentucky River, campers can enjoy visiting the nearby horse country, the arts and crafts of Berea, the Red River Gorge Wilderness area or relive the pioneer life of Daniel Boone with our living historians at Fort Boonesborough.
The Facility
The campground has 167 improved sites with electric and water hook-ups, of which 18 have a sewer hook-up. There is a large primitive camping area and an overflow camping area. Two central service buildings with showers, restrooms and laundries are available. In addition there is a recreation building and a grocery store.
Camping Tips
Two playgrounds, a basketball court, a volleyball court, horseshoe pits and a miniature golf course are located within the campground. The park offers recreational programming and special events weekends such as Easter and Halloween.
Park Features
