I have used this chair on camping trips for over 4 years. It has been excellent in most conditions. The only exception has been on sandy surfaces. It tends to twist in sand and then break.
Anybody know where I can get another?
It's that good!

How can you be posting on this chair in 2009 when it hasn't been made since 2005? I've been looking for one on ebay/craigslist to no avail.

I like camp chairs when I'm just camping, within an easy walk of the car, but I can't imagine taking one along on a backpacking trip. It's just unnecessary. Lean the backpack against a tree and relax. Part of the mystique is getting comfy with the dirt, making the best of your surroundings. Not surprising it's out of stock everywhere, you can get better folding recliners for park camping nearly anyplace.

I like camping chairs that are lightweight and at the same time durable as these armless chairs will have to pass certain weather conditions although I am concern with how much weight the Trail-Sling Ultralight can handle, as we all know that many Americans today are not exactly fit. Many are overweight but still want to have ultra light chairs for their health conditions. I am not saying that your product is not good, it is just that I have read all the situations that might come up in the post above but the weight is not mention so I was just wondering because I wanted to give this to my brother as a birthday present.

Chairs should be comfortable with a back straight enough to avoid damaging the column. The market offers many styles, sizes and designs modern and comfortable. You just have to choose properly.

I agree the sling chair looks prefect for camping and hiking. My family attend alot of football games I could see using the sling chair. We also go on quite a few picnic's as well, can fail asleep in it after the picnic. It would also come in handy when we go to the drive inn, everybody brings there favorite chair. Anything outdoors you are correct it would be great!
