My wife and I have been avid campers since the early 80’s.
I thought we were in hog heaven until our youngest grand-daughter “wanted to go camping too”. It was a joy always for our grand children to go. God blesses us in so many ways, and sometimes we don’t realize it. She was afraid at first, to go camping and now she is always ready to go.
The best thing about camping is just watching them explore, ask questions about nature and etc. We love it, because there is no stress, aggravation and etc. Just nature, God and our children and grandchildren, they absolutely love it. So the last weekend in June we went to Levi Jackson State Park in London, Kentucky. Cassie, the youngest just started wanting to go fishing. It was such a beautiful thing to watch a four year old cast the reel with anticipation, knowing she was going to catch a fish.
She had a few nibbles and was so excited. I could see her face light up with excitement. She has not caught a fish yet but I know she will.

Though it might seem like cheating, I remember that when I was a kid the unforgettable thing about fishing was actually catching one. So when my nephew needed an introduction to the art (he was about eight) I suggested we go to the trout farm instead of someplace you might not catch fish. Pleasant surroundings, helpful people with tips for the kids, and a guarantee of success. Nothing like success for that first outing, let the disappointments come later.
The place we went is the Bear Creek Trout Farm at Bear Creek Springs in northwest Arkansas. Lots more family run farms like that who could use the business.

Bear Creek Springs Trout Farm and DeVito's Restaurant is a great place for that first fish whether it is a kid fishing or an adult. They clean the fish and pack on ice or for an extra fee they can cook the fish across the street at the restaurant. Phone for a fishing reservation 870-741-8832 . No fishing license required and all equipment and bait furnished free ...pay only for what you catch !!

so sweet story. but i think the best place to share stories is the rv club. there u can not only share your stories but also your great adventures and even dangerous ones to, so that other can avoid that dangers.

the real fun lies in tent camping, i agree with those people who say that rv camping is safe and secure, but if u camp in a campground than its safe too. and u can interact with nature as equally.

I agree that tent camping has a different feel to it than RV camping. If you want to really get away from the technology of home and get back to the basics, tent camping is the way to go.

There's nothing like teaching a youngster how to fish and when they catch their first fish - oh my gosh! Their thrill is contagious!

Took one of my nephews fishing back in the summer at a lake in the New Forest UK. Told his parents it was one of the best days of his life. Wildlife 1, Computer games 0!

We share in your joy. We had been camping with our children until they were grown, and now we enjoy the occasional trip with our grandchildren. It does make us wonder, though, why we didn't decide to have grandchildren without having had children. Still haven't worked that one out.

So glad to see a family have fun camping and fishing. While my one memory of my one camping trip is pretty bad, I love all the memories I have of fishing with my grandfather. I know your grand-daughter will look back at the times she went fishing with you and smile as well. There's just something about grandfathers.
